The Chöif served formerly as a market and warehouse square. Romanesque ornaments at some of the oldest buildings link to this use. Thanks to its location directly below the church it was often used as a meeting place after the mass. The square is decorated since 2000 with the bronze sculptures “4 seasons” by Carl Constantin Weber.
