Point of interest

Jungfrau Eiger Walk

The Eiger North Face with its dramas and triumphs of climbers serves as a template for the Jungfrau Eiger Walk from the Eiger glacier station to the Kleine Scheidegg. The centerpiece is the «Chilchli» near the Lake Fallboden, which formerly served as a transformer station and looks like a chapel. Peepholes with scenes of the tragedies on the Eiger and a reproduction of the Eiger North Face to which the successful routes can be projected by laser, await the visitors. On the shore of the Lake Fallboden the names of the 69 injured climbers are engraved in stones. In addition, the legendary Mittellegi hut on the north-east ridge of the Eiger, which was replaced in 2001 by a new building, was reconstructed at the Jungfrau Eiger Walk. Modern and older mountaineering equipment are exhibited in the hut.
