The tour
This lovely hike takes you along the over 100 -years-old Lötschberg mountain route of the railway BLS from Hohtenn via Ausserberg, Eggerberg and Lalden to Naters/Brig. The first railway hiking trail of Europe fascinates with the Alpine and Mediterranean vegetation, Suonen with flowing water, spectacular railway constructions and great views, but also cozy benches and interesting information and panorama panels. You can walk the totally 26 kilometer long hiking trail "Lötschberg southern ramp" entirely or in sections. The RegioExpress Lötschberger operates hourly the stations Hohtenn, Ausserberg, Eggerberg, Lalden and Brig, in this way it is possible to shorten the hiking tour.
Alternative Route
To the Bietsch or Baltschieder valleys; Departure at the railway stations Hohtenn, Aussserberg, Eggerberg, and Lalden, to be combined freely.
